People say that rap is a dead form. I tend to believe different, I believe it's just evolving, and staying current. Prime example is what we've been doing over here... Check out Kryptik - V.I.P ft. Crooked I. Just google it, I don't wanna spam a link. against night

Burl Sheldon has some strong new protest songs, worth checking out at his website
www.burlsheldon.com. The title song of his CD, "Busy Makin' Money" offers a good encapsulation of the Iraq tragedy. It is really all about the money, isn't it?
The protest ranges from the war to consumerism and there are a few pretty good huorous lyrics, too. (Looser.com and I.T. Blues). The lyrics on "Aint No Water" and "War Machine" are also very hard hitting. Accompaniment is solid accoustic.

I have to say, that I could not agree with you in 100% regarding Historic and Contemporary Protest Songs Links, but it's just my opinion, which could be wrong :)

Terrific show on KPFK!!! These songs should be better known. I wish I'd written "I'm a better anarchist than you"; it expresses my feelings almost perfectly.
The link between Aunt Molly Jackson/IWW and the 60s folk protest music never made it into my American history education. Thanks so much.
