This week Eli interviews Eden Brower and John Heneghan- The East River String Band about their new CD/LP “Some Cold Rainy Day,” with artwork by R. Crumb. They play some cuts from the new record, and also delve into John’s extensive collection of rare 78 RPM records, playing a bunch of un-reissued records you won’t hear anywhere else!
The East River String Band will be playing this Saturday night, June 14th at my Down Home Live show at Banjo Jim’s on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. No Cover! Come and check it out, should be a great show.

On thier Music: The East River String band is a long awaited refreshing spin on an ol familiar sound. These two are mondern Folk Folks.Eden has a lovely voice and Bitterman is always on point. I personally enjoy both of thier personalities and uncommon style.

I’ve just discovered the wonderful East River String Band and found the interview filled in what I wanted to know about Eden and John’s background. I hope they’ll come to perform, perhaps at a blues or folk festival near where I live, 3000 miles from New York in the Great White North!
