Eli Smith here. Thank you for your interest in Down Home Radio. Down Home Radio is an internet show, broadcast via internet streaming from www.DownHomeRadioShow.com. This is a great way for us to broadcast, it is commercial free and people can stop and start the shows as they please. All shows will be archived for future reference.
I think it is true that internet radio is the future of radio. The vast majority of real air-waves radio is controlled by huge faceless corporations that play stuff that will offend as few people as possible which they determine by spending big bucks on focus groups and hack social scientists, all to boost their ad sales. Clearly Down Home Radio is not doing that. With good guests and programs, and some publicity where it counts we expect and are attempting to gain a large national and international audience for Down Home Radio, a very unconventional internet radio program. On the other hand we're not making hardly any money on advertising sales. For that reason, this is a fund raising plea. I am depending on donations to get Down Home Radio through. This means paying for our start up expenses, including the website, the equipment and software to produce the show and various other promotional, office and incidental expenses, not to mention all the time Dave, Henrietta and I put into making the show happen every week.
Down Home Radio
has the potential to be a historic program, drawing
together threads and ideas and above all MUSIC that you won't
hear anywhere else.
